Under his leadership, we have flourished into the largest family-funded home care provider in Toronto, and the biggest franchise location globally. Beyond his role as Chairman, Bruce’s advocacy, philanthropy, and commitment to healthcare reform reflect his enduring dedication to our client-centric approach.

Corey joined Home Instead Toronto as President in 2023, bringing a wealth of experience from a career in private equity and investment banking. He was a Principal at Onex Partners, working on the acquisition of WestJet Airlines, management of a leading automation tooling provider (AIT), and Jack’s Family Restaurants. Corey is excited to leverage these experiences to propel our continued growth and elevate our commitment to delivering the highest quality of care.

Sharon Norton Robertson bio picture
Director of Client Care
Sharon began her caregiving journey looking after the elderly in the Niagara region, which subsequently led to a fulfilling, diverse career as a Registered Nurse. Now with a decade in high quality home care and two decades of experience at Women’s College Hospital, Sharon brings wisdom and excellence to her role as Director of Client Care. She has extensive expertise, and has held leadership roles in Gerontology, Internal Medicine, Patient Safety, Risk and Advocacy. Her insightful and individualized approach to patient care has enabled clients and their families to transition safely and efficiently to supportive care in the home. Sharon is a highly motivated and dedicated advocate, committed to the best interests of our clients. Sharon’s success was facilitated by her supportive parents, who themselves held roles in Health Care and Quality. Sharon has an interest in education support for special needs children and she supports Sistering & Covenant House, a homeless shelter for youth.

Her strategic contributions and commitment to service excellence set the standard for our team. Throughout her career, she has consistently surpassed client expectations. Joan spends a significant amount of time in community engagement, and is an active advocate for our mission, engaging with seniors’ residences, hospitals, and the community at large. In addition to her professional pursuits, Joan is a passionate traveler with a wanderlust that has taken her to diverse corners of the globe.

Ram began working at Home Instead Toronto first as a caregiver, which ignited his passion for gerontology and commitment to addressing distinct healthcare needs of aging adults. As a Registered Nurse, he has demonstrated exceptional skills delivering critical care in emergency medicine. Currently pursuing a master’s in leadership in healthcare policy and education within nursing, Ram is dedicated to improving healthcare at a systemic level. In addition to clinical pursuits, he serves as a mentor and preceptor for novice nurses, emphasizing a commitment to education and fostering a supportive learning environment.

Rafia is an expert in full cycle recruitment, compliance management, auditing, and policy development. Her commitment to health and safety initiatives ensure our team is supported. Outside of work, Rafia’s interests include painting, travel and theater.
