Caregiver Spotlight: Hosni

Meet Hosni, a dedicated nurse from Tunisia who is working to have his credentials recognized in Canada. Hosni embodies the excellence we strive for at Home Instead, consistently demonstrating a commitment to his role that’s recognized by both clients and colleagues.

Hosni shared his strategies for building a positive relationship with clients: “To be successful as a caregiver, you have to honour the person’s past and enter their world. You need to be a jack of all trades..to become the right caregiver.”

Hosni’s journey to Canada is deeply personal and filled with purpose. Leaving his family and the familiar, though tumultuous, home of Tunisia behind, he came here not only to pursue new opportunities but to find fulfillment in a way that wasn’t possible back home.

“My father always encouraged me to find a path where I could make a real difference,” he reflects. “Here, I feel like I have something to prove—not just to myself but to my family, and that sense of purpose drives me every day.”

Beyond his professional commitments, Hosni is drawn to the soulful sounds of jazz legends like Etta James and Miles Davis, and is an avid fan of Mad Men and Suits, admiring the ambition of Harvey Specter.
